Darren: Specialist Plumber and Founder

Darren has been in the plumbing business for over 30 years, so he knows just about everything there is to know about your pipes and your home. As well as being a veteran of the plumbing industry, he is also a member of the Master Plumbers Association NSW and the Strata Community of Australia.

Darren founded Pipe Perfection in 2004 after he saw first-hand that the technical ability and professionalism of plumbers in Sydney’s inner west and eastern suburbs was sub-standard. He even wrote a consumer’s guide to help homeowners choose the right plumber.

Because Darren has a lot of experience working on large construction projects, he takes a holistic approach to solving maintenance problems, where he looks at your house as a whole instead of just looking at it from a plumber’s perspective.

Darren is a certified Enviroplumber, committed to making it easier for you to not only “live green” but also to help you be green on a budget. He has also completed a Thermostatic mixing valve and back-flow prevention course so he can help small businesses and strata buildings that contain cafes, hairdressers and restaurants.

Interesting fact: You may have recently seen Darren on Sunrise or ABC television!

With over 18 years of experience there is not much that Jason hasn’t seen in his plumbing career. He knows Sydney’s pipes like the back of his hand and uses that knowledge to give Pipe Perfection Plumbers customers the best service in town.

Who better to tend to your plumbing needs than someone who has direct experience working on the Homebush Bay Olympic venue and Star City Casino? Jason has also managed large teams of plumbers and run his own successful business before deciding to join the ranks of Pipe Perfection Plumbers. During his time here he automatically settled in and helped create the great teamwork environment we are known for.

Jason is popular among Pipe Perfection clients, being described as hardworking, honest, trustworthy and reliable. Something only possible when someone truly loves the job that they do.

Plumbing isn’t everything for Jason though, he’s a massive NRL fan, supporting the Wests Tigers. He loves talking about the 2005 Grand Final, but not so much about the recent past of the club. Next year will be better though!

With eight years experience, Matt is the man you want diagnosing your plumbing issues. In fact, he’s the guy we want diagnosing your plumbing issues, which is why Matt could be the first person you meet from Pipe Perfection Plumbers. Matt will respond to callouts, diagnose the issue, quote the fix and carry out the work. He’s a true all-rounder.

Matt’s highly regarded within the industry as well. He was a Master Plumber apprentice before being welcomed into the Pipe Perfection family. His day job has a lot of variety in it, but he most fondly remembers redoing a four metre deep sewer line in Newtown.

Matt is described as friendly, punctual and responsible, and has been known to become best friends with the canine companions of any client. Outside of work he’s a dog lover, soccer nut and still cheers every time he recollects the Socceroos defeating Uruguay in 2006.

Laney is married to Darren, the owner of Pipe Perfection Plumbers, and works behind the scenes as the Marketing and Finance Manager. She has helped see it grow to the well-known small business that it is today. Laney strongly believes that toilets and exceptional customer service can go hand in hand – providing those hands are washed!

Surprisingly, Laney started as a veterinarian. Now, she gets to talk about plumbing and home maintenance a lot, and loves to share what she learns each month in the Tips for a Happy Home newsletter. You’ll also spot her advice in articles and blog posts.

Hailing from New Zealand, Luke is a specialist plumber for Pipe Perfection Plumbers. With over 18 years of experience, it makes up for the fact he comes from across the ditch. Luke’s vast experience includes both commercial and domestic maintenance, while he has a particular interest in the environment, especially when it comes to rainwater harvesting.

Luke’s specialty has seen him working for Massey University in Wellington designing and building a state of the art rainwater harvesting research facility. With that kind of background, leaving your plumbing needs in his hands is more than a safe (and environmentally friendly) bet.

Pipe Perfection customers who have experienced Luke’s work first hand describe him as knowledgeable, trustworthy and reliable. He takes great pride in delivering a first class experience to his customers and sharing his deep knowledge.

When the tools are down, Luke loves hitting the slopes — something New Zealanders are admittedly quite good at. Certainly none of the other Pipe Perfection Plumbers crew will be attempting to emulate Luke’s feat of landing a 20 foot backflip while skiing!

Adam Nebelung: Plumber

Adam brings a fresh perspective to Pipe Perfection Plumbers as an apprentice plumber who, though coming from a long line of professional plumbers, was formerly a chef. Both Adam’s grandfather and father where plumbers, so it was not altogether surprising when Adam decided to put down the spatula and pick up a wrench. Adam has always been interested in the profession and enjoys meeting new people and learning new skills.

Although relatively new to the business, Adam has already experienced a range of different plumbing challenges, both domestic and commercial. His biggest challenge so far has been an initial dig at Bondi that had so much sand it seemed like the team was digging up another Bondi Beach.

Pipe Perfection Plumbers clients are already lauding his professionalism, describing him as happy, reliable and a great team player. Clients born and bred in NSW like him even more as he wears his State’s pride on his sleeve, barracking heavily for the Blues during Origin time … although he notes it is very easy to remember the last series wins.

Tom began his career straight after completing his HSC in 2012 and since then has picked up a number of professional accolades including the Clarrie Wyler Award, 1st Year Apprentice of the Year runner up and 109th Gold Medal Award runner up.

Before working for Pipe Perfection Plumbers, Tom honed his skills working for large construction companies. This experience means it’s hard to phase him — his most memorable job at Pipe Perfection to date was digging a staggering 32 metres down to a boundary trap to replace it.

Tom is particularly proud of not only his plumbing achievements but the feedback he gets from happy clients. He’s noted for his friendly attitude, honest work ethic and respect.

Outside of plumbing, rugby league runs in Tom’s blood. He’s a Bulldogs supporter and a proud one, recalling the 2004 Grand Final (no prizes for guessing who won) like it was yesterday. He’s also a huge NSW Blues supporter and clings on to their 2014 series win.

Adam may not often get his hands dirty with pipes, wrenches and the rest, but his role at Pipe Perfection Plumbers is just as important: Adam is the business manager. He helps ensure we have happy customers and keeps everything ticking over smoothly.

It takes someone with great skill to keep the cogs of a company this size moving when there are work sites all over the inner west and eastern suburbs of Sydney, which is why we chose Adam. He has worked all over the world with experience in strategic sales, business development, product development and operations, specifically in the financial services and building industry.

Adam is a bit of an all-rounder outside of the office as well. He’s volunteered for the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia, plays AFL and once nabbed the 2nd runner up Best and Fairest for the Maroubra Saints. He’s also a mad supporter of the Adelaide Crows.

To top it all off, Adam is a dad, which makes his hectic schedule even more impressive.

Michè is the heart of the Pipe Perfection operations, based in our Marrickville HQ. Call our office and the chances are you will talk to Michè, which is a good thing being that our customers describe her as reliable, calm and conscientious.

The role of Office Manager is busy and varied, so it’s great that Michè is extremely patient and enjoys getting to know our clients and their specific needs. She says the role utilises her skills yet challenges her on a daily basis.

She’s not afraid of a good challenge either. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, shopping at Vinnies (a massive challenge if we have ever seen one) and playing with her young son.

No matter what question you have for Pipe Perfection Plumbers, Michè is perfectly placed to answer it. Why not shoot her an email or pick up the phone?
